Gotcha while skinning a spline with point helper bones in 3ds Max


I ran into a gotcha while skinning a mech’s hose with a spline bone. The unexpected results came while trying to skin a spline to point helpers.

You might enable show vertex on a spline in order to align the point helpers to each vertex. You must disable show vertex under the display panel before skinning the spline in the modify panel, otherwise the helpers will not deform the spline.
